Nintendo recently unveiled their new console, the Switch 2, and its premier launch title has been announced as Mario Kart World.

The file size for Mario Kart World has been officially confirmed at 23.4GB. This notably large size for a Nintendo platform suggests the game will indeed boast extensive content and features for players to explore.

While this might not compare to the absolutely massive game sizes often seen on other high-end gaming platforms, which can sometimes easily reach hundreds of gigabytes, 23.4GB is still considered a giant within the context of the Switch 2 platform, especially when compared to historical file sizes of Nintendo’s own developed titles.

Looking ahead, file sizes for some other upcoming games on the Switch 2 platform have also been disclosed. For instance, another launch title, Donkey Kong, is listed at a significantly smaller 10GB.

Naturally, the overall enjoyment and quality of Nintendo’s games are ultimately determined by gameplay experience, creativity, and design, and should not be judged solely by their file size metric.
